I think I have made up my mind and am going to get the BFG G-Force Sport Comps. I don’t think I want the no-tread shoulders of the Firestone’s since my driving is not on all perfectly paved roadways. The Dunlops look really nice too but would cost slightly more ($25) and might not wear as well.

I learned how to drive a race car on those Bridgestones!
I never thought a tire tread pattern could evoke so much nostalgia.

LOL Penguin. I think the BFG’s are a safe bet and would do slightly better on gravel and rain.

The Comp-2 is very popular on The Smoking Tire’s one-takes. More than half of them have Comp-2's

The pricing is great too, with $50 right now. Anything is going to be better than what I currently have for summer tires on my car. Worn out bridgstone’s from my mom’s impreza!

You won’t go wrong with them. I’ve had them before and can’t complain about anything with’em. They are superb in the wet and help steering feel quite a bit.

I just put a set of the G-Force Comp 2 all seasons on my 2003 Mach 1 and they are amazing. It used to have cheapo Summitomo HTR A/S PO2 and I could feel every crack on the road while also having no grip. The BF’s solved it all. Not the same, but still - BF offers great price to performance.

I think you’ll get a lot of people attesting to the BFG’s here - myself included. I don’t have anything bad to say about them - they’re pretty confidence inspiring with spirited driving.

I put the all-season version of the Comp-2 on my wife’s Impreza and we’re happy with them. Not the same tire, of course.
I wouldn’t have second thoughts about the DZ102, in the comparison between the Comp-2, DZ102 and Indy 500, it didn’t do nearly as well as the others.

SC2's do not take heat well. If you’re not tracking your car it’ll probably be fine though.
they also have have a tendancy to get louder as they wear out, my buddy is almost ready to ditch this because he’s getting tired of listening to them despite them having about half their tread left.
Decent grip for the price though.

I ran these staggered on an old Mercedes CLK, but I never really used them for spirited driving. The awful alignment really wore the edges down fast, but if your car isn’t too aggressive in alignment it should be fine.
As with most performance tires, these won’t sound very pleasant as they wear down. You can almost hear the noise just by looking at those huge tread blocks.
